H.E. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah – Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs

H.E. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah is the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait since 2011. He began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978 as a Diplomatic Attaché in the Department of Arab Affairs.

In 1995-98, he was the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Permanent Representative of The State of Kuwait at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). In 2006-07, he was Minister of Social and Labor Affairs. In 2007-2009, he was Minister of Information. In 2009, he was appointed Minister of Information, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

H.E. is a member of the Supreme Petroleum Council, the National Security Council, the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, the Supreme Council of Environment, and is the Chair of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).

H.E. has been honored with the Order of King Abdulaziz (Saudi-Arabian Order of Merit), the Order of the Two Niles (First Class) given from the President of the Republic of Sudan, and as the Grand Officer of the National Order of the Lion by the President of the Republic of Senegal.

H.E. holds a B.A in Political Science from Kuwait University.
